In spite of stormy weather, the BMW Lions Club Bass Fishing Tournament was held on Swift Creek Reservoir on Saturday, May 18. Twenty-three boats launched from the boat ramp at Sunday Park.(more...)

SCES Great Gator 5K & Fun Run is a great success

Sunshine and smiles abounded at the Second Annual Great Gator 5K and Kids Fun Run held at Swift Creek Elementary School on April 27. A sea of green and blue shirts flooded the school’s campus as over 100 children participated in the Kids Fun Run with an obstacle course; nearly 400 children and adults ran the 5K. (more...)

James Yanovitch wins state titles

Three years ago, James Yanovitch was featured in The Village Mill for his innovative fundraising efforts to benefit the Central Virginia Food Bank. The 6-year-old performed 100 handstands in his driveway and collected $676 from passersby for the cause. His hard work has paid off in more than one way. (more...)
Boxer Brief Battle 5k raises awareness; proceeds benefit colon cancer research
