Cleanup of storm damage & debris continues in Brandermill

Dear Residents:Recent severe storms caused extensive power outages and downed trees in Virginia, and as you know, Brandermill did not escape the path of the storms. BCA Maintenance staff members have been on the job removing downed trees and debris throughout the community. They worked non-stop in 100-degree weather to clear Sunday Park and the parkways in time for the Fourth of July festivities. Our wooded community is large and will require a huge cleanup effort that may take a while to complete. We ask residents with pickup trucks to lend a hand and help neighbors transport storm debris to the landfill.
The BCA is compiling a list of areas in need of help. Residents must first call the BCA at 744-1035 to be put on a list for availability of pickup of branches by staff. Once a pickup is scheduled, neighbors are asked to make one or two piles of tree branches at the curbside in their neighborhood, which will help expedite the pickup process. Residents are encouraged to take any late deposits of debris to the landfill, as crews will make only one pass through a neighborhood on the list.
During cleanup, please take precautions to rest and hydrate in the extreme heat. We ask for your patience, as staff members are working as quickly as possible.
If you own a boat, please check the mooring, T-rack or the beach to make sure it is secured.
