A few weeks ago, members of the Community Character Committee traveled through every neighborhood in Brandermill counting mailboxes. Not only did we see many well-kept homes with beautiful landscaping, we saw many, many new mailboxes dressing the curbsides. As of mid-April, 339 new mailboxes have been installed in Brandermill neighborhoods, and 50 more have been ordered. Winterberry Ridge is leading the pack with 35 installations, followed by Birnam Woods with 18 new mailboxes, and Thornridge with 17.

Residents are coming up to me on a regular basis to say how much they like the new units. It makes me proud of my committee and the BCA. Committee members thank you for showing support of the CCC and the BCA Board with your quick response in purchasing the new units.

We hope you stay tuned because the Marketing Committee and the CCC are working together on enhancing the front entrance to Brandermill. The sign will be taken down, cleaned, and refurbished, and the new logo will be added. New landscaping will be installed: around the sign and under the magnolias; on the Old Hundred Road median between the Holiday Inn Express and Market Square; at the intersection of Millridge Parkway and Old Hundred Road; and on the Millridge Parkway median near Court Ridge. New plantings also will be added to the Brandermill Parkway median near the Brandermill Woods entrance. The next project for Marketing and the CCC will be to work together on redesigning the directional signs.

We hope you will be enthusiastic about all the projects that committee members of MPOC have planned for you and Brandermill, and that you will join one of the committees and participate in the excitement. You can see information on the committees and projects at www.brandermill.com. We look forward to having you join us.

The CCC continues to meet with residents about covenant issues. If you have something you would like to discuss with us, please let us know, and we will try to help. You can email me at dcardea@verizon.net.
